portrait-1b-smallDr. Al-Shihabi is a native of Madison, Wisconsin, where he graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin – Madison before earning his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In medical school he was accepted in to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a Junior student, for those in the top 5% of their class, and was also given the Ben and Ella Wagner award in Anatomy upon graduation.  He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, a Doximity/US News & World Report Top-10 training program, followed by an additional year of hand and upper extremity training at the acclaimed Mary S. Stern Hand Surgery Fellowship in Cincinnati, Ohio.  His practice focuses on surgical and non-surgical treatments for conditions of the upper extremity.  He is available to see patients at both the Golf Road and Mukwonago locations of Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin.

Dr. Al-Shihabi has authored a number of book chapters and journal articles on orthopedics and hand surgery, and has presented this work at both the regional and national level.  He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.  In addition, he also has an interest in international medical care, and has recently served on surgical missions to Honduras and Ghana.
